I thought the term window sill was commonly used? Is it just a British thing maybe?

Naw, we use it here in the deep south of the USA. I always thought it was spelled seal, actually. We pronounce it more like seal than sill. Oh yeah. SNOW!

Quieten down people. He didn't reply to the first one, I doubt he's gonna reply simply because more people said it. We all understand that life can get busy sometimes, right? He's probably just bogged down with paying work or something. When he's ready, he'll come back to his adoring fans. I hope.

However... is sill really that esoteric a word? I've known that since I was very small. Is this a US/Canada thing? Is this because my grandma was a British English teacher? They say seal in the southern US? Did you ever see that chart plotting the usage of the terms: "soda" "pop" or "coke" as generic fizzy water sugar drinks across North America. Regional languages are very interesting.

We use 'sill' but usually pronounce it 'seal'. At least around where I live. I actually asked a bunch of random people the day after I posted my first comment.
