Sometimes I can't tell if you are trying to make a point or not. If this is trying to make a point, it certainly has not convinced me.
When discussing what a word means, it is useful to look up what the definition is.
Because that is what it means.
(though the definition might leave out certain nuances. In these cases, it is good to find the definition, and then note the subtle differences in how it is actually used)
The comic seems to be saying that creativity is "not using what others have said as a basis" or something similar.
The other person never said they were trying to be creative.
