Tech Dude. Don't you have anything *good* to watch?
Yeah. I just uploaded a list of my favorite TNG episodes to my linux server.
Easy there, Tech Dude. I think you just got some nerdiness in my eye.
I'm more of a geek than a nerd. As you can see, I have a girlfriend.
Recording your favorite Star Trek episodes in a Word document is the nerdiest thing possible.
That's completely absurd, Dude.
The list is in plain text format - I'd never use a Word document.
That way it's easy to access from the command prompt.
Just wait. He's about to top himself.
I'm working on a parser script to automatically convert the text file into HTML, with hyperlinks to each episode.
I'm leaving. Immediately after I finish watching those Star Trek episodes.
Trekkies are not geeks, nerds, or other otaku, no matter how much they appear as such. It just a sad hold-over from the time when they had to use command prompts and vacuum tubes to do their computing. Looking at you, pre-1999 time...
I dont understand why hed make a list at all when he can just open the cmd prompt and use the dir command on the directory of eps.
Also this kid is small time compared to the setup at my house- I wrote a custom program that watches the top level folders for tv shows and movies and adds the names of the files added to those folder to a mysql database. In the event my all the drives in my 4 Terrabyte media server die I have a comprehensive record of everything I lost.
