"Downside Flower"
I was walking along and noticed a downside flower.
The petals were in the ground and the stem grew into the sky.
Many things I wondered, but most all, why.
And then I saw the bees the dug into the earth.
They would come up from the ground to help with flower birth.
I thought that surely science would know about this behavior.
Was this nature's new development or simply another flavor?
So, later that day, when talking with friends, I wowed them with stories of a flower on end.
Of course they would ask me to show them what I saw.
But by the time we arrived the flower had grown tall.
They said, "There's no tiny flower with petals downward facing."
So they called me a liar and said I was crazy.
